My journey in cricket started since five years after my birth. The idea of cricket was brought to me by my elder brother after watching his favorite team win the 6th edition of the Indian Premier League. He noticed that I was very agile and was most of the time hoping around the house, so he decided to teach me how to play cricket. He himself didn’t know perfectly how to play but after watching some matches and a few videos on Youtube, he got to know about it.
Like every beginner I liked to bat all the time , but I realized that if a batsman does a mistake, then he cannot help his team any further. As a bowler, if you commit a mistake you may get another over to bowl in the game. You can even help your team in batting if the batting order collapses.
First it was difficult to bowl properly as my elbow used to bend just before I released the ball. Many children don’t try to fix it as it is an easier way to bowl. Sometimes when my arm didn’t bend, the ball pitched very far away from the batsman. So, I practiced a lot to bowl a good length ball without my elbow bending. After a few months, my practices went successful.
I was the captain of the captain of my school’s junior cricket team while in 5th grade. Please read my other posts about tips to remember while playing cricket.
